THE SUPPLY NOTEBOOK

Container or freestanding candle supplies?

Choose the intended form first

An empty jar and a removable mold serve different roles in the finished candle. A container candle remains in its vessel; a freestanding form is released from a suitable mold. Begin your shopping list with that intended form rather than with the color of a photograph. Then read the selected wax listing and the manufacturer’s stated application. A wax described for one role should not be assumed suitable for another because both listings use the word candle.

Keep each component separate

Record the wax, wick, vessel or mold as separate choices. A photographed vessel does not establish that it is included with wax, and a mold listing does not necessarily supply a wick or finished candle. Compare the exact variation and the listed pack contents. Use reviewed product facts for quantities; do not turn a mold’s cavity count into the number of physical molds supplied.

A shopping list is not a formulation

The list on this site helps you keep selected supplies together in your browser. It does not calculate wax quantities, select a safe wick or establish a finished-candle recipe. Follow the current instructions for the exact products and assess the combination through the manufacturer’s recommended testing. Where a source disagrees about a measurement, treat that dimension as unresolved rather than building a recipe around it.
